Apart from the craziness that was 2016; from surprising election upsets, to heart-breaking celebrity deaths, this year ended in an overall positive light for the Austin Real Estate market. We saw an uptick in the median home value in the entire metro area up 7% from $269,700 in December 2015.
A 7% increase in median home value falls in line with the national figures, which come in right at 6.8% (according to Zillow). A few steps ahead of the nation but it’s comforting to know that Austin is still running strong! In terms of average days on the market the greater Austin metro area saw a slight increase to 60 days.
Looking to sell? Expect the average agent to take 2 months to do it. Luckily, the Ashley Austin Homes approach is just a tad above average (:)! Where it’ll take two months on the average, we can get that home sold in half the time!
